Product description
High-alloy electrodes 309L-17
309L-17 electrodes are austenitic stainless steel electrodes with reduced carbon content. They are intended for welding stainless steels to non-alloy and low-alloy carbon steels, as well as for surfacing components exposed to corrosion or high temperatures. The low carbon content minimizes the risk of intergranular corrosion.
Key advantages:
- High corrosion resistance – ideal for use in chemically aggressive or humid environments.
- Stable arc and smooth weld – easy electrode handling and aesthetic weld appearance.
- Low carbon content – increases joint durability.
- Excellent weldability – steady arc performance, easy striking and re-striking.
- Material versatility – suitable for joining different types of steels (e.g., stainless to carbon steel).
Applications:
- Welding stainless steel to carbon steel
- Joining stainless to structural steels (heterogeneous joints)
- Surfacing of worn or corrosion-exposed components
- Chemical, petrochemical, and food industry structures
- Power industry, pipelines, tanks, furnace housings
